For eight days, two hotel bases usually create a better rhythm than repeated moves: an inland base such as Ubud and one coastal area. Ten days can support a third area or an island extension when transport and sea conditions are planned carefully.
Build an efficient eight-day route
Group inland experiences around Ubud and coastal experiences around one suitable beach area. Keep arrival light and protect the final transfer to the airport.
- Days 1–4: Ubud and nearby inland experiences.

- Day 8: departure buffer matched to the flight.
Use ten days for depth, not clutter
Two extra days can slow the pace or support one carefully chosen extension. They should not automatically become two more hotel changes.
- Add rest time to an active itinerary.
- Choose one third area only when it changes the experience.
- Place any boat extension away from the international departure.
Cluster activities geographically
Bali traffic makes map distance a poor guide to time. Schedule nearby activities together and leave room for meals, weather and spontaneous stops.

Is Ubud or the beach better first?
