POLAND COST BOOK
Poland trip cost from Saudi Arabia for couples and families
A Poland budget is more than a hotel or meal price. Start with eight days and seven nights, then separate flights, rooms, food, travel between Warsaw, Zakopane and Kraków, tickets, visa costs and a contingency.
The short answer
How much should you budget for Poland?
For two: an eight-day, seven-night trip from Saudi Arabia has an illustrative budget of SAR 11–16k for a practical style, 17–26k for a comfortable trip, while a premium stay may start at SAR 32k. For two parents and two children: start with SAR 20–30k for a practical trip; a comfortable plan may reach 30–44k.
These planning ranges include economy flights, seven nights, food, urban and intercity transport, selected activities, visa and insurance allowances, and a 10% contingency. They exclude shopping and do not guarantee direct flights, family-room availability or a price for particular dates.
Local calculator, no enquiry sent
Build a Poland budget in Saudi riyals
Enter a current flight quote and your total document allowance, then adjust travellers, nights, rooms, comfort and transport. This calculator estimates accommodation, food, activities and transport, adding a 10% contingency. It is a planning tool, not an enquiry form.
Behind the total
Understand the assumptions
8 days and 7 nights
Warsaw, Zakopane and Kraków, with an overnight buffer before departure. Arrival and departure days are not full sightseeing days.
Rooms, not people
Hotels are calculated by room count. Extra beds, connecting rooms, occupancy and ages can change availability before price.
Flights are a separate input
Flight prices change quickly, so enter your own quote instead of relying on an average that may become outdated.
10% contingency
An allowance for exchange-rate changes, parking, snacks and price differences; not a substitute for insurance or a shopping budget.
Flight, hotel, food, driver and activity ranges are True Travel planning assumptions, not government averages or supplier quotations. The dated official examples below are separate from these illustrative ranges.
The biggest cost before arrival
Flights from Saudi Arabia to Poland
Use SAR 1,800–3,800 per person return as an initial planning range, then replace it with a current quote. Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam, stopovers, airport changes, summer or year-end dates, baggage and amendment terms may put the fare outside this range.
Compare Warsaw and Kraków, including flying into one and returning from the other. A multi-city ticket can cost more upfront but save a train journey, private transfer or return night in Warsaw. Compare the same taxes, bags, seats, meals and journey times.
A late arrival may add a private transfer or a largely unused hotel night. A long connection can mean extra meals, a hotel or a lost day. For families, check seating, stroller and baggage rules and whether every segment is on one ticket before choosing the lowest fare.
Location and room before stars
Hotels in Warsaw, Kraków and Zakopane
An illustrative range for a practical 3–4-star hotel or verified apartment. Check breakfast, cancellation, lift, air conditioning and heating.
A planning range for a good 4-star hotel, clearer room specifications and a location that reduces transfers. Peak dates and family rooms can cost more.
An illustrative premium hotel, suite or mountain stay. Views, upgrades and meals are not automatically included.
Warsaw
The centre is convenient for trains and the metro; the Old Town is attractive for walking but not always ideal for airport access. If you stay at both ends of the trip, weigh changing hotels against the location benefit.
Kraków
Staying near the Old Town saves time, but vehicle access, quiet rooms and parking can be harder. Check the actual walk to the tram and main square rather than relying on “near the centre”.
Zakopane
An apartment can suit a family, but confirm heating, lift, kitchen, cleaning, parking and winter access. A remote location can turn the saving into daily taxi or vehicle costs.
Family-room rule: give children's ages at travel and the number of actual beds. “Two children free” can mean sharing existing bedding; connecting rooms need written confirmation.
A controllable daily expense
Food budget in Poland
Practical
SAR 110–180per person / dayA planning allowance for included breakfast, a simple lunch, a moderate dinner, water and coffee; not fine dining every night.
Comfortable
SAR 190–320per person / dayA planning allowance for sit-down restaurants, wider choice, one or two special meals and snacks.
Families
Depends on agesNot simply adult prices × fourA child's meal can be smaller, but drinks, snacks and tourist-area locations can increase the total.
Do not count hotel breakfast twice. Allow for water and a meal on intercity travel days, and do not assume a suitable restaurant is close to every Zakopane activity. “Vegetarian” does not establish halal suitability; ask about meat, stock, alcohol and shared utensils when relevant to your requirements.
Plan one main meal and keep room for a lighter option. Restaurants near sights may cost more, but transport to a distant restaurant can cancel the saving for a group. Give a special-occasion dinner its own allowance rather than increasing every day's average.
From city tickets to a private vehicle
Urban and intercity transport
The source article's August 2026 example lists a 15-minute all-zone ticket at PLN 4, a 30-minute or single-journey ticket at PLN 6, and a zone-I day ticket at PLN 20. Check the operator's current tariff before travel.
The source article's August 2026 example uses PLN 4.40 for a 75-minute zone-I ticket, with airport-rail acceptance subject to operator rules. Confirm the current fare and validity.
Compare the vehicle, hours, waiting, fuel, tolls, parking, child seats and luggage before comparing totals.
Walking, trams, metro and buses can reduce Warsaw and Kraków costs. Buy the correct time-and-zone ticket and validate it as required. A child or student discount may require qualifying documents and may not apply to a foreign visitor.
A train between Warsaw and Kraków often avoids driving and parking. For Zakopane, compare rail, coach and a vehicle against season, luggage and hotel location. For planning, allow SAR 700–1,800 for two for public transport, trains and selected transfers, or SAR 3,500–7,000 for private-vehicle use on several days.
For a family, four fares plus station-to-hotel transfers can narrow the gap with a vehicle. A driver is not automatically available all day: specify maximum hours, kilometres, stops, waiting, parking and overtime charges.
Tickets should not hide inside “tours”
Activities and attractions
60 PLN
The source article's August 2026 example lists PLN 60 for the Royal Route or Museum Route with an audio guide at Warsaw's Royal Castle. The full route costs more; any Wednesday free-entry provision has limited scope. Confirm the dated tariff and access.
95 PLN
The source article's August 2026 example lists PLN 95 for a combined two-floor Wawel Castle ticket. Separate exhibitions and seasonal routes can differ. Confirm the current ticket and inclusions.
Seasonal operation
Cable cars, activities and snow depend on dates and weather. Check tickets, transport and an alternative before booking a mountain day.
Separate scope
Check whether the price is per person or per group and whether guide, vehicle, ticket, waiting and lunch are included.
Allow SAR 900–2,400 for two for selected activities, tickets and tours, or SAR 1,600–4,500 for a family depending on ages and privacy. Choose one main activity per day rather than every famous attraction, with free walks, parks and unstructured time.
A museum's free day may restrict routes or capacity and involve more waiting. Balance time with the experience rather than rebuilding the whole trip to save a few dozen zlotys.
Dated fees and exchange examples
Visa, insurance and currency
The source article cites SAR 397 for Schengen application processing in the Riyadh embassy schedule effective 3 January 2026, with cash payment and non-refundable fees. Confirm the current schedule and payment method for your application.
On 19 August 2026, the source article recorded an NBP example of SAR 1 = PLN 0.9938, or PLN 1 ≈ SAR 1.01 before card fees. This is historical, not a live exchange quote.
Insurance is a policy requirement, not one universal price. Check medical limits, cancellation, winter sports, exclusions and age conditions.
Photographs, translation, service-centre or delivery costs may apply depending on the application route, so SAR 397 is not an all-in visa budget. Age-based fee exemptions and reduced rates depend on the current official schedule and your circumstances. Enter the actual total for your family in the calculator.
The exchange example is dated, not an executable rate. Understand your card charges and any dynamic-currency-conversion offer before accepting it. Keep a small cash reserve rather than exchanging the whole budget; consider a backup card and transaction alerts.
Two budgets, not one multiplier
A couple versus a family of four
Prioritise location and one special experience
- Two flight tickets with baggage.
- Seven nights in a double room.
- Intercity train and selected private transfers.
- One or two paid activities in each city.
- Visa, insurance and contingency.
A well-located hotel and a comfortable train can offer more value than an all-day vehicle and frequent hotel changes.
Confirm occupancy and vehicle first
- Four tickets and age rules.
- A genuine family room or two rooms.
- Breakfast and a bed for each child.
- Child seats and room for strollers and bags.
- Age-based activity tickets.
Hotels, airlines, trains and museums define children differently. Give ages at travel and request a written bed layout rather than relying on a room photograph or “sleeps four”.
Four illustrative scenarios
How does the budget come together?
Illustrative group flights of SAR 3.6–7.6k and seven hotel nights of SAR 2.2–3.6k, then practical meals, trains, public transport, selected activities, documents and contingency. Save by reducing vehicle days and hotel bases, not essential baggage or suitable rooms.
An illustrative SAR 550–850 room rate, shorter flight connections, a good train, private airport transfer and a Zakopane touring day, plus selected cultural experiences. SAR 17–26k is a planning range for comfort and clearer terms, not guaranteed peak-season luxury.
Start with four tickets, then settle a family room versus two rooms. Match the vehicle to luggage and child seats and reduce hotel changes. The SAR 20–30k planning range requires controlled vehicle and activity costs, not assumed discounts for every child.
A distinctive mountain stay, weather-suitable private transfers, flexible cancellation and winter-activity cover can take a couple beyond SAR 32k. Book confirmed operations and a weather alternative, not a promise of snow.
Save without losing trip quality
Nine ways to control Poland costs
- Compare flights consistently: the same baggage, connections and amendment terms.
- Try a multi-city ticket: include the transfer and overnight costs it saves.
- Reduce hotel bases: three cities are enough for eight days.
- Consider Warsaw–Kraków by train: if it works with your bags and timing.
- Reserve vehicle days for Zakopane or touring: rather than every day.
- Stay close to your priorities: a distant hotel adds time and taxi costs.
- Confirm child occupancy: before comparing room prices.
- Choose one main daily activity: avoid tickets you will not use.
- Compare cancellation terms: the cheapest non-refundable option may not be the best value.
From estimate to a clear quotation
What should a Poland quote include?
- Departure city, dates and flexibility.
- Adults and children's ages at travel.
- Hotels, locations, rooms and beds.
- Meals, taxes and known charges.
- Flight segments, baggage and seats.
- Train or vehicle, hours and parking.
- Tours, guide, tickets and language.
- Exclusions, cancellation and quote expiry.
A proper quote is more than a total on an image. It names flight numbers, each hotel and room type, occupancy, private or shared transport and hours, tours and tickets, insurance, exclusions, payment schedule and price-validity date.
Compare the same nights, rooms, baggage, transport and tickets. A “4-star hotel” description is not yet comparable with a named hotel, room, breakfast and cancellation policy. Ask for missing details before judging the price.

Quick budget answers
Poland trip cost FAQs
Use the range to assess whether the destination fits, then replace assumptions with a dated quotation before paying.
How much does a Poland trip cost for two?
For eight days and seven nights from Saudi Arabia, use illustrative ranges of SAR 11–16k for a practical trip, SAR 17–26k for a comfortable trip, and SAR 32k or more for a premium stay. Assumptions cover flights, hotels, food, transport, selected activities, visa, insurance and contingency; these are not booking offers.
What is a Poland budget for a family of four?
For two parents and two children, the planning ranges are about SAR 20–30k for a practical trip and SAR 30–44k for a comfortable one. Ages, room and bed counts, baggage and transport between Warsaw, Kraków and Zakopane are major variables.
Is Poland expensive for travellers from Saudi Arabia?
Everyday transport and food may cost less than some western European alternatives, but flights, multiple cities, private vehicles and family rooms can raise the total. Compare the whole journey rather than one meal or ticket.
How much are flights from Saudi Arabia to Poland?
Use SAR 1,800–3,800 per person return as an illustrative starting point, then replace it with a current quote including taxes, bags, seats and every flight segment. Departure city, connections and Warsaw versus Kraków can move fares outside the range.
What do Warsaw, Kraków and Zakopane hotels cost?
Illustrative nightly room ranges are SAR 320–520 for practical accommodation, SAR 550–850 for comfortable rooms and SAR 1,000 or more for premium stays. Summer, Christmas, ski holidays, family occupancy, location and cancellation terms can change prices.
What is Poland’s currency and its value in Saudi riyals?
Poland uses the zloty, PLN. The source article records an NBP example dated 19 August 2026 of SAR 1 = PLN 0.9938, or roughly SAR 1.01 per zloty before fees. This is historical; check the actual rate and card charges before payment.
What are Poland visa fees for Saudi applicants?
The source article cites SAR 397 for Schengen application processing in the Riyadh embassy schedule effective 3 January 2026. This is a dated example, not a current all-in visa quote. Confirm the current official fee and payment rules; insurance, photographs or service costs may be additional.
Is a train cheaper than a private driver in Poland?
It often can be between Warsaw and Kraków for light travellers, but price alone does not settle the choice for a family with bags or a Zakopane route. Compare all group fares and last-mile transfers against a written vehicle quote with hours and parking.
How much should I budget for food each day?
Use illustrative allowances of SAR 110–180 per person per day for a practical style or SAR 190–320 for a comfortable one. Included breakfast, halal requirements, location and special meals change the total. Do not count hotel meals twice.
Are the calculator and price ranges a True Travel offer?
No. They are initial planning tools. A bookable dated quote should specify flights, baggage, hotels, rooms, meals, transport, tickets, taxes, exclusions, cancellation terms and its expiry date.
