Budget workbook · Updated 3 October 2026
Morocco trip cost from Saudi Arabia for couples and families
For an illustrative eight-day, seven-night trip through Casablanca and Marrakech, the balanced planning range is SAR 14,000–23,000 for two people or SAR 25,000–41,000 for two adults and two children. These ranges come from the August 2026 planning model—not live inventory or a bookable package. Replace the inputs with quotes for your dates.
The whole trip, not just the fare
How much should you budget for Morocco?
Add international flights, the required rooms, meals, airport and station transfers, travel between cities and the experiences you plan to book. A family’s costs do not scale evenly: room capacity, children’s fares and luggage can change the most practical transport choice.
What the range means: an editable planning envelope, not a checked market average. It excludes discretionary shopping and unentered individual costs. Compare one complete set of quotes for the same dates, rather than combining the cheapest fare and hotel from different weeks.
Make the comparison reproducible
Seven assumptions behind the sample budget
Changing the route, length or travellers means recalculating the inputs—not carrying the range over unchanged.
Eight days and seven nights, including arrival and departure days.
Two nights in Casablanca and five in Marrakech; no multi-day desert extension.
Riyadh is the reference. Jeddah or Dammam may mean different fares, connections and arrival times.
Return economy fares with required baggage, not the lowest headline amount alone.
A suitable hotel or riad; family capacity and bedding must be confirmed.
Enter Saudi riyals. Convert dirham quotes using your actual provider’s rate and fees.
The example uses 10%; you can change it. Shopping remains a separate discretionary allowance.
Local, editable arithmetic
Calculate your Morocco trip in Saudi riyals
These sample values do not query airline or hotel availability. Replace them with dated, like-for-like quotes. Accommodation and local transport are totals for the group, not per-person amounts. Activities are per traveller across the whole trip.
Different choices, different totals
Three illustrative service levels
SAR 10,500–15,000 for two
A planning scenario with flexible dates, simpler accommodation, local restaurants, public transport and fewer paid activities. It is not a promise that this combination is available; baggage and taxes still belong in the comparison.
SAR 14,000–23,000 for two
The central sample: a suitable hotel or riad, adequate baggage, intercity travel, a mix of meals and selected experiences. Availability and cancellation terms can move the result outside the range.
SAR 23,000–36,000+ for two
An illustrative higher-service scenario with more convenient flights, upgraded accommodation, private transfers and guided activities. Luxury has no fixed ceiling; price the specific inclusions.
For a family, model the room configuration and each child’s age separately. Do not use a fixed multiplier or assume that a discounted ticket includes a bed, breakfast or baggage.
Track the units of every amount
Where the Morocco budget goes
1. International flights
Use the final return fare for each adult and child, including required baggage, seats and payment charges. The sample’s SAR 3,200 adult fare is an editable assumption, not a current Royal Air Maroc offer. Compare direct and connecting journeys with their arrival times; a late arrival can add a private transfer or an extra hotel night.
2. Hotels and riads
Enter the total cost of all required rooms per night. The couple sample uses SAR 650 and the family sample SAR 1,100 as illustrative inputs. Confirm neighbourhood, breakfast, taxes, cancellation and bedding. In a medina riad, ask about vehicle access, stairs, air conditioning and noise rather than treating all accommodation as interchangeable.
“Children stay free” may refer only to existing beds. Check extra beds, breakfast and actual occupancy in writing. A refundable deposit is not necessarily a final expense but may still require available card capacity.
3. Food
Count adults and children separately for each day. Adjust for included breakfasts, tour lunches, hotel restaurants, drinks and snacks. Put a special dinner into a separate allowance rather than raising every day’s estimate without intending to spend it.
4. Trains and local transport
The Moroccan National Tourist Office describes the rail network and booking options. Check the actual journey and class with ONCF. Add hotel-to-station and station-to-hotel transfers before comparing a private vehicle; the cheapest ticket alone is not a door-to-door price.
Keep local daily transport separate from the whole-trip intercity allowance. For families, confirm child seats and luggage capacity. Do not compare four people’s needs with a quote for a small vehicle carrying two.
5. Activities
On 3 October 2026, the Jardin Majorelle website lists admission at MAD 170, with free entry for accompanied children under ten. The Hassan II Mosque foundation lists guided admission for foreign adults at MAD 140. Check each attraction’s current age categories and ticket conditions before booking; these dirham prices are not whole-trip costs.
The calculator applies one activity allowance per traveller. If children have different actual costs, add the group’s total ticket cost and divide it by the total travellers before entering it. A private excursion should include transport, guide, meals and any separate admissions.
6. Currency, fees and contingency
The old August model used about 2.47 dirhams per riyal. That dated reference is not a live rate. Convert each dirham quote with the rate and charges available to you, then enter the resulting riyal amount once. Include insurance, connectivity and necessary fees under other costs if they are not already included.
The tool adds the contingency after the subtotal. Its 10% default is a planning choice, not a required or sufficient reserve for every trip. Keep shopping, optional spa treatments and upgrades separate so they do not silently consume it.
7. Dates and arrival times
Compare a complete flight, room and transport combination for each date window. School holidays, events and cancellation terms may affect different categories differently. A low fare with an inconvenient arrival can lose its saving through another night or transfer. Evaluate the cost with the timetable, not just the headline number.
Couple versus family
What changes for two adults and two children?
| Category | Two people | Family 2+2 | Check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flights | Two adult fares | Each age priced separately | Baggage and fare conditions |
| Rooms | Usually one suitable room | Confirmed family room or two rooms | Beds, breakfast and occupancy |
| Transport | Two seats and luggage | Four seats, bags and child seats if needed | Door-to-door total |
| Activities | Adult admissions | Supplier-specific age rules | Age on the visit date |
| Pace | More flexible movement | Breaks, meals and sleep | Avoid paid commitments after a tiring arrival |
Stress-test your choices
Test the budget before committing
Higher flights
Increase the fare input to see whether your dates still fit the available budget.
An extra overnight
Add the room night and any extra food or transport—not just the hotel alone.
Family capacity
Replace an unconfirmed family room with the actual cost of two suitable rooms.
A three-stage quote comparison
- Set the structure: travellers, ages, route, days, nights, rooms and baggage.
- Collect matched quotes: same dates, currency, inclusions and cancellation basis; note when each was checked.
- Test changes: flight increases, another night and additional transport, with contingency applied consistently.
More cities mean more than another activity
Adding Fes, the desert or Essaouira can require transport, a guide, accommodation, meals and more luggage handling. Price an extension as its own block rather than hiding it in local transport. Use the seven- and ten-day Morocco itineraries to compare route structure.
Often-forgotten costs
Include home-to-airport travel in Saudi Arabia, parking, connectivity, laundry, card fees, extra beds, seats and optional gratuities where applicable. Track refundable holds separately from spending. An available credit limit is not the same as a travel budget.
Keep the essentials, remove unnecessary movement
Eight ways to make the budget more practical
- Compare date windows rather than only one departure.
- Match the number of cities to the duration.
- Choose a practical neighbourhood before a hotel brand.
- Compare riads and hotels by inclusions and conditions.
- Price train travel with both station transfers.
- Choose a few priority experiences and leave some flexible time.
- Check child prices separately in every category.
- Keep shopping separate from contingency.
Use the Morocco season guide when comparing weather and itinerary choices; it is not a live price forecast.
Frequently asked questions
Morocco budget questions from Saudi travellers
How much should two people budget for Morocco from Saudi Arabia?
The illustrative balanced model is SAR 14,000–23,000 for two people over eight days and seven nights in Casablanca and Marrakech, before shopping. These are planning assumptions carried from the August 2026 model, not current supplier offers. Replace each input with a quote for your dates.
What is the budget for a family of four?
The corresponding illustrative range is SAR 25,000–41,000 for two adults and two children. Room capacity, children’s ages, baggage and flight prices can change the total significantly. Do not simply double the couple’s accommodation cost or assume a child discount.
Are the displayed amounts bookable package prices?
No. The calculator runs locally and does not check airline or hotel inventory. Its inputs are editable examples, not an offer or a guaranteed market average. The supplier’s final quote and booking terms take precedence.
How do I budget flights from Riyadh to Casablanca?
Enter the final return fare for each traveller, including baggage and any required seat charges. The illustrative model uses SAR 3,200 per adult and SAR 2,700 per child; these are assumptions, not checked live fares. Compare arrival times and any overnight transfer cost.
Which exchange rate should I use?
Use the rate and fees offered by your bank, card or exchange provider for the transaction. The calculator accepts Saudi riyals only. The old August model used approximately 2.47 Moroccan dirhams per riyal, but that is not a current exchange-rate quotation.
Is the train cheaper than a private transfer?
Compare the full door-to-door total: tickets for the group, transfers at both stations, luggage and timing. The result depends on your route and fare. Check current ONCF prices rather than treating a past promotional fare as a price for your departure.
How is the food budget calculated?
The tool multiplies days by adult and child daily allowances separately. The balanced example uses SAR 180 per adult and SAR 100 per child per day. Adjust for included breakfast, restaurant choices, drinks, snacks and tour meals.
How much should I set aside for attractions?
The model uses SAR 650 per traveller for activities across the whole trip, not per day. Replace that amount with your ticket and tour list, checking age rules and inclusions. Official attraction prices are in Moroccan dirhams and still need conversion and fee checks.
What is excluded from the estimate?
Shopping, individual entry requirements, optional upgrades, spa treatments and multi-day desert extensions are not automatically included. Add insurance and other necessary costs to the relevant field. The contingency is separate from discretionary shopping.
Evidence and limitations
Where to check prices before booking
The budget ranges and calculator presets are illustrative assumptions from the August 2026 workbook. They have not been refreshed from live flights and hotel availability. Attraction references were checked on 3 October 2026; even published admission prices require confirmation for your visit and ticket type.
- Royal Air Maroc: dated flight quotations
- ONCF: journey and fare search
- Moroccan National Tourist Office: transport
- Jardin Majorelle: admission conditions
- Hassan II Mosque foundation: visits and tariffs
The calculator performs local arithmetic and does not save or send its inputs. It does not determine entry eligibility, insurance coverage or booking availability. Supplier terms and the final payable quotation remain the reference.
