Morocco entry requirements for Saudis and Saudi residents
The key distinction: Saudi passport holders are listed as visa-exempt, while non-Saudi residents start with their passport nationality; Saudi residence alone is neither a visa exemption nor a separate eVisa route.
This is travel preparation, not a visa decision or an entry guarantee. Moroccan authorities and your carrier make the final decisions.

Two separate decisions
Distinguish citizens from residents before booking
Listed in the exemption source
Ordinary Saudi passport
Saudi Arabia appears in the Moroccan consular visa-exemption list cited in the original source review. The list could not be reloaded during our 19 October review: recheck it before travel. Carry a valid passport and consistent travel documents; exemption does not remove border checks.
Check Morocco’s exemption listDepends on nationality
Non-Saudi resident
A Saudi residence permit does not transfer Saudi passport rules to its holder. Check your passport nationality through the official tool; the route may be exemption, eVisa or a consular visa, depending on nationality and valid supporting visas.

Mixed or unclear circumstances
Temporary passports, refugee documents, work or study, residence nearing expiry, or a child travelling without a parent need individual checks. Ask the Moroccan mission and airline rather than relying on a general tourism summary.

Passport and visa
What do the sources establish, and what needs a separate check?
For Saudis: visa exemption is not unconditional admission
Saudi Arabia’s inclusion in the cited exemption list addresses whether a visa is required in advance for ordinary travel with a Saudi passport, not whether an individual will be admitted at the border. Your purpose, trip length, document validity, accommodation, departure ticket and funding should be consistent. No blanket stay period is asserted here without a verified source for your circumstances. For a long stay or a non-tourist purpose, obtain written guidance from the mission. The exemption list was inaccessible during the latest review, so confirm it directly before booking.
For residents: Saudi residence does not change passport nationality
The official eVisa note separates eligibility categories. One covers listed nationalities; another covers residence in the European Union, United States, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates and Switzerland. Saudi Arabia is not in that published residence list. A further category concerns valid, multiple-entry, non-electronic visas from specified countries. A Saudi resident may therefore qualify through nationality or an eligible visa, but not simply by holding Saudi residence.
If the portal identifies an eVisa route
An eVisa is an individual authorization for tourism or business, not a right to residence. Check the conditions when applying. Avoid imitation portals and do not send your passport to a website outside the official domain acces-maroc.ma.
Put the distinction into practice
Three similar-looking situations with different checks
Case A
A couple with two Saudi passports
Check the exemption for each passport, then confirm both documents’ validity and prepare departure, accommodation, funding and insurance records. A trip to Morocco alone does not mean you need to buy a visa service from an intermediary. Recheck the official list close to departure.
Case B
A non-Saudi resident travelling with family
Check every passport and nationality individually. A parent, spouse and child may have different routes even where their Saudi residence permits share a sponsor. Enter each traveller’s circumstances in the official tool rather than relying on a friend’s experience with another nationality.
Case C
A resident holding a multiple-entry visa
A valid visa from a listed country may support an eVisa route, subject to the type and validity specified in the official note. “Schengen” or “US visa” alone is not enough: check multiple-entry status, remaining validity at application and the current Access Maroc result.
Arrival documents
Six items to prepare even when visa-exempt
Moroccan source documents describe checks on departure arrangements, accommodation, funding and insurance. Prepare a practical arrival file without treating it as an admission guarantee. The visa-form link could not be reloaded during this review; the accessible eVisa note also describes supporting documents for its holders.
- 01
Passport
Carry the valid original in good condition, with a name matching the ticket. Check each passport separately and confirm the validity requirement rather than relying on a blog.
- 02
Route confirmation
For a non-Saudi passport, keep the Access Maroc result and your eVisa or consular-visa instructions where applicable.
- 03
Departure ticket
Keep an offline copy of your return or onward booking within the authorized stay.
- 04
Accommodation address
Have hotel confirmations or clear host details covering every night and matching your itinerary.
- 05
Funding
Carry an appropriate payment method and evidence of funds for your stay and group. Never disclose statements or card details through an unofficial form.
- 06
Travel insurance
Choose cover valid for Morocco and your full trip, with an assistance number and clear medical terms. The official eVisa note includes hospitalization and medical-repatriation insurance among documents that may be checked.
Children and family
Prepare an individual file for every child
Treat each child as a separate traveller: passport, nationality, route, ticket and insurance. A child with a non-Saudi passport does not inherit a parent’s exemption. The official eVisa conditions state that a holder under 18 may enter only with a parent or legal representative.
With one parent
- The child’s own passport and route documents.
- Birth certificate or other relationship evidence where needed.
- The other parent’s consent if required by the carrier or authority for your circumstances.
With a legal representative or different names
- Verifiable guardianship or consent documentation.
- Consistent names and translations where requested.
- Written confirmation from the airline and mission before payment.
There is no universal consent form for every family: requirements depend on nationality, the accompanying adult, departure country and transit.
Before booking, then before departure
Two check rounds reduce surprises
Before non-refundable payment
- Identify the passport each traveller will use.
- Check Access Maroc and save the dated result.
- Confirm passport validity with the airline.
- Ask the mission about any special circumstances.
- Choose flexible bookings until the route is settled.
48–72 hours before travel
- Recheck the official source.
- Print your eVisa, departure, accommodation and insurance documents.
- Match names, numbers and dates.
- Keep an encrypted offline copy.
- Check transit requirements separately.
Assumptions to avoid
- “Saudi residence gives me Saudi passport rules”: Incorrect: passport nationality is the starting point.
- “eVisa validity equals the permitted stay”: Incorrect: the note distinguishes validity of up to 180 days from a stay of up to 30 days.
- “An approved eVisa guarantees entry”: Incorrect: border documents and the final admission decision remain separate.
- “One family file means one shared authorization”: Incorrect: every traveller needs an individual eligibility check and authorization where required. The official note does allow family applications to be grouped in one file for processing.

Quick answers
Frequently asked questions about entering Morocco
Do Saudis need a visa to enter Morocco?
Saudi Arabia is included in the Moroccan consular exemption list cited in the original source review. That page could not be reloaded during the latest review, so confirm it directly before travel. The rule concerns Saudi passport holders and does not guarantee admission or remove passport and arrival-document checks.
Does Saudi residence exempt a non-Saudi resident from a Moroccan visa?
A Saudi residence permit is not a Saudi passport. Start with passport nationality and type, then check any additional eligibility through official Access Maroc. Saudi Arabia is not included in the residence countries listed in category B of the accessible eVisa note.
Can a Saudi resident apply for a Moroccan eVisa?
Some residents may qualify through nationality or an eligible valid visa, not simply through Saudi residence. Check nationality, residence and supporting visas through the official portal before paying for travel.
How long can a Moroccan eVisa holder stay?
The official note distinguishes visa validity of up to 180 days from issue from a single permitted stay of up to 30 days. Validity is not the length of stay, and successive electronic visas cannot be used to combine their authorized stays.
How long does a Moroccan eVisa take?
The official note gives 24 Moroccan working hours for express processing and 72 for standard processing, excluding incomplete or inaccurate applications. These are published processing periods, not a guarantee.
What passport validity is needed for Morocco?
For an eVisa application, the note requires an ordinary passport valid for at least 90 days at application. Do not apply that eVisa threshold to every traveller or purpose. Confirm the passport rule for your own route with the authority and carrier before booking.
Is insurance needed when entering Morocco?
The accessible official eVisa note includes hospitalization and medical-repatriation insurance covering the stay among documents that may be checked at the border. Prepare cover appropriate to your trip; insurance does not itself establish a visa exemption or guarantee admission.
What does a child need to travel to Morocco?
Check each child’s passport, nationality and route separately; a parent’s rule does not automatically cover the child. The official eVisa conditions say a holder under 18 may enter only with a parent or legal representative. Confirm any relationship or consent documents for your circumstances.
Does visa exemption or an eVisa guarantee entry?
No. The official eVisa note expressly allows border authorities to refuse admission where conditions or evidence are not met. Visa processing and the final border decision are separate.
Where should I check before paying for a booking?
Start with official Access Maroc and its route checker, then consult the exemption list or the Moroccan mission responsible for your residence if anything is unclear. Recheck close to departure because conditions can change. Family applications may be grouped in one processing file, but every traveller still needs an individual route check and authorization where applicable.
