Visa-free
No advance visa application is required for a qualifying visit, but travel and border documents still apply.
COMPARE ENTRY RULES BEFORE YOUR TRIP
“Visa-free” is only the start. Compare the permission, its validity, border documents, season and total trip budget. Choose for your passport and dates, then check current requirements before paying. An exemption does not guarantee entry.
THE SHORT ANSWER
Saudi passport holders can currently visit options such as Türkiye, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Malaysia and Mauritius without an advance visa, subject to each country’s rules. The Maldives issues a tourist visa on arrival; Indonesia offers VoA/e-VoA to eligible travellers. Japan requires a visa, with eVisa available to eligible applicants; the UK and Seychelles require electronic travel permission before departure. Azerbaijan’s exemption is temporary, with entry and stay limits through 15 February 2027 under its official notice.
BEFORE USING THE TABLE
No advance visa application is required for a qualifying visit, but travel and border documents still apply.
Issued at the border after requirements are met. A form, fee or immigration officer’s approval may be needed.
An actual visa applied for and issued electronically before travel. Online eligibility does not mean automatic approval.
A passport-linked digital permission required before boarding, not the final border decision.
YOUR SHORTLIST
Browse the full list or narrow your shortlist. Filters do not validate passport eligibility or live prices. Selecting a season does not mean every city or activity suits that period.
Türkiye’s MFA lists ordinary Saudi passports as visa-exempt for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
Saudi Arabia is on Georgia’s consular visa-exemption list. Check insurance and border documents before booking.
From 15 February 2026 to 15 February 2027: up to three entries in one year, each for up to 30 days. A fourth entry requires a visa.
Kazakhstan’s MFA lists ordinary Saudi passports as visa-exempt for up to 30 days.
Qualifying visa-free visits of up to 30 days, subject to return/onward travel and applicable passport-validity requirements. Confirm documents and any exceptions with the consular authority and airline.
Malaysia’s government list allows Saudi passport holders a visa-free short visit of up to 90 days. Admission remains a border decision.
Mauritius’ Passport and Immigration Office lists Saudi Arabia as “no visa required”. The immigration officer determines the admitted stay.
No advance tourist approval is required, but the arrival visa depends on passport, return plans, accommodation, funds and the free IMUGA declaration requirements.
This is not paperwork-free travel: government travel authorisation is mandatory before departure and can be requested within 30 days before planned arrival.
Saudi passports qualify for B1 visa on arrival or its electronic route under immigration guidance. All Indonesia procedures and the Bali levy are separate requirements where applicable.
Not visa-free for Saudis: JAPAN eVISA offers online short-stay tourism applications to eligible ordinary-passport holders resident in Saudi Arabia under MFA rules.
Saudi passports are on the list requiring ETA before travel. Permission is passport-linked and covers qualifying visits of up to six months, without guaranteeing admission.
Try another budget scenario, season or trip style, then check actual prices and entry rules for your dates.
What does the budget scenario mean? It is a seven-night ground-budget test for two adults, excluding flights—not a predicted cost or booking offer. Categories are comparison groups, not cumulative ceilings: choosing SAR 10,000 does not also show the SAR 6,000 group. Select “All scenarios” to see every group and obtain actual prices before ruling a destination in or out. See the SAR destination-budget comparison and compare your actual quotation.
Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a cabinet-approved revision of exemption rules on 19 May 2026, with the new measures tied to official publication. That announcement alone does not establish which rule applies to your passport on arrival. Do not automatically rely on “60 days visa-free”, or assume all exemptions have already ended.
If you are considering Thailand, read the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs notice ↗ and check the rule currently in force with the relevant government authority or embassy and your airline before non-refundable payment. Confirm nationality, purpose, duration and any required arrival form.
COMPARE YOUR TRIP STYLE
Start with Türkiye, Georgia or Azerbaijan for a one- or two-city route. Compare flight and transfer time and arrival schedules. Easy entry is not a reason to overload a short itinerary.
Compare the Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius, the Philippines and Malaysia. Check rain, wind and the specific island or coast, then price transfers: a boat or domestic flight may affect the budget more than the hotel.
Türkiye, Malaysia and Japan offer very different trips. Check room occupancy, children’s ages, driving, food, activities and airport distance, then apply entry rules to every traveller’s passport.
Consider highlands in Georgia, Türkiye or Kazakhstan, or UK cities. “Cool” is not enough: check the town, altitude, rainfall and heat alerts for the actual dates.
Japan, London, Istanbul, Baku and Kuala Lumpur suit different itineraries. Compare entry requirements first, then accommodation bases. Changing hotel every night costs time even when entry is straightforward.
Georgia, Kazakhstan, Bali, the Philippines and Mauritius work best with a focused area. List essential activities before choosing the airport, and check whether you need a driver, domestic flight or boat.
CHECK BEFORE PAYING
This guide concerns ordinary Saudi passports. Another nationality, an emergency document, a child’s passport or a non-Saudi resident’s passport can change the result entirely.
A tourism exemption is not permission to work, study, receive medical treatment or reside. Check permitted activities, stay limits and repeat-entry conditions before comparing destinations.
The destination may be straightforward while transit requires permission, an airport change or baggage collection. List airports, airlines and separately ticketed connections.
Open the official link on the destination card and note the check date, passport type and duration. Do not rely solely on a search snippet, video or compiled list.
Check passport validity, onward tickets, accommodation, funds, insurance, health forms and children’s permissions. Boarding requirements may be more specific than the exemption headline.
Recheck the official source, airline and issued permission. Confirm that the passport number, name and dates match. A late correction is better than denied boarding.
SAUDI NATIONAL OR RESIDENT?
“From Saudi Arabia” describes the departure point. It does not give a non-Saudi resident Saudi passport privileges. Check each traveller separately by passport nationality, type and validity, Saudi residence and re-entry documents, purpose and transit.
Even within a family, another nationality can change a spouse’s or child’s requirements. Do not make everyone’s non-refundable bookings based on one person’s eligibility, or upload passport images to a public form just to request destination ideas.
As shown on the passport actually used.
May affect eVisa eligibility or return to Saudi Arabia.
Check the transit country, airport and connection type.
Separate passport, permission and consents when required.
YOUR BORDER DOCUMENTS
This is not a universal country checklist. Use it to identify questions, then consult the destination’s official source.
THE TOTAL IN SAR
Include airfare and accommodation with taxes and correct occupancy, airport and domestic transfers, food, activities, insurance, permits and fees, then a contingency reflecting refund terms. A resort with no advance visa may cost more than a city requiring eVisa. A higher-priced direct flight may remove an entire transfer night.
The SAR 6,000, 10,000 and 16,000 filter scenarios are ground-budget questions for two adults and seven nights only. They are not market averages or advertised prices. Do not use them to decide a purchase without a live quotation for your dates.
COMMON MISTAKES
Arriving without onward travel or clear accommodation and assuming “visa-free” is enough.
Using Saudi passport rules for another nationality simply because the traveller lives in Riyadh.
Your route changes airports or crosses a border, but you checked only the final destination.
Reading “2026” without checking the current official rule, or overlooking a time-limited exemption.
Entering passport and payment details on a government-lookalike website. Start from the official domain on the card.
Leaving out boats, domestic flights or a driver, making an island look cheaper than it is.
Obtaining permission only for adults or assuming a child is automatically covered by a parent’s passport.
Paying before electronic approval or before confirming every traveller’s eligibility.
OFFICIAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Each card links to a destination government source. Read the rule for your passport, purpose, duration and arrival date, and recheck before ticketing and departure. Procedures can change and temporary exemptions can expire. A visa or travel authorisation does not guarantee boarding or admission.
BEFORE BUYING A TICKET
Selected options in this guide include Türkiye, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Malaysia and Mauritius, plus Azerbaijan’s temporary exemption under its current limits. This is not a permanent promise. Check the destination government and airline before paying.
No. An exemption permits travel without an advance visa for a qualifying purpose and duration. Border authorities assess passport, onward travel, accommodation, funds, purpose and relevant health or security requirements, and make the final admission decision.
An electronic visa is a visa issued digitally after an application, such as Japan’s route for eligible applicants. Travel authorisation is advance passport-linked permission, such as the UK ETA or Seychelles authorisation, not guaranteed admission. Check purpose, duration and conditions for each system.
No. An arrival visa involves approval or fees at the border, or an electronic process before departure where available. An exemption removes the advance-visa requirement within its conditions. The Maldives issues tourist visas on arrival; eligible Bali travellers use VoA or e-VoA.
Not necessarily. This page concerns ordinary Saudi passports. A non-Saudi resident is assessed by passport nationality, residence, purpose and transit, and may need a visa even when departing from a Saudi airport.
Check before selecting a non-refundable ticket, at booking and again around 72 hours before travel. Recheck immediately if your passport, transit route, purpose or duration changes, or a new government notice is issued.
Permission is often linked to each passport. A child may need a separate application even when an infant, as with the UK ETA. Check destination rules, parental consents and the airline’s requirements for each child.
Border authorities or airlines may require return/onward tickets, accommodation and sufficient funds. A visa exemption does not remove trip documents, passport conditions or the next destination’s requirements.
No. The year does not guarantee rules remain unchanged through the year. Check the government source for your passport and dates, especially temporary measures such as Azerbaijan’s time-limited exemption and notices about entry-rule changes.
No. The team can help organise a trip and understand available routes and requirements. Visa or travel-authorisation issuance, boarding, admission and the final permitted stay remain decisions for the relevant government authority, airline and border officials.
