Calculate without sending an enquiry

Build your trip budget

Start with the illustrative values or reset the calculator. All amounts are in SAR: flights per person, accommodation per room per night, and food and local transport per day.

01 — Define the plan
02 — Travellers and rooms

Include children’s ages when requesting a quote later. Hotel and airline policies depend on more than the headcount.

03 — Getting there and staying
04 — Daily spending and experiences
05 — Fees and contingency

Four steps

Use the calculator without false precision

01

Define the trip consistently

Set adults, children, rooms and nights. “A family of four” is not enough without ages and room arrangements: a hotel may price a family room or two rooms, while flights have their own age policies.

02

Collect final prices

Enter flight prices including baggage and seats, and accommodation including taxes, breakfast and cancellation terms. The first displayed price may differ from the final checkout amount.

03

Separate daily and fixed costs

Food and daily transport are multiplied by trip days. Airport transfers, shopping and other expenses are fixed amounts. Keeping them separate shows what changes when you add a night.

04

Add a margin and test the limit

A contingency is not an invitation to spend. It leaves room for currency, transport or small changes. If the plan exceeds your limit, reduce complexity or change dates before removing insurance or accepting unsuitable terms.

The default illustrative plan

How does the sample reach SAR 18,700?

Two adults, 8 days and 7 nights, one room, return flights at SAR 2,000 per adult, accommodation at SAR 600 per room per night, and food at SAR 200 per adult per day. With transport, activities, insurance, transfers, shopping and other expenses, the subtotal is SAR 17,000. A 10% contingency adds SAR 1,700.

This is a test of the calculation, not a price for a particular destination. Change one field to see its effect. Increasing rooms from one to two adds SAR 4,200 to accommodation before contingency: 600 × 7 nights × one additional room.

Calculation method

The formulas behind your result

Flights = adults × adult flight price + children × child flight price. Accommodation = rooms × nights × room price. Food = trip days × total adult and child daily food costs. Daily transport = days × the group’s daily transport cost.

Activities are per traveller for the entire trip; visa and insurance are per traveller. Fixed transfers, shopping and other expenses are then added. Contingency is a percentage of that subtotal. Cost per traveller divides the final total by travellers, and cost per day divides it by nights plus the arrival day.

The tool does not convert currencies or retrieve live prices. Enter the expected card charge or quoted amount in SAR, allowing for relevant fees.

What to do after calculating

If you are within budget

Do not automatically spend the remaining amount. Keep some for contingencies and check that flight and accommodation inclusions match the assumptions behind your figures.

If you exceed your limit

Start with the number of cities, rooms, dates and flights, then repeated activities. Do not make your first cuts to entry documents, insurance, or the suitability and safety of your accommodation’s location.

If prices are uncertain

Create low and high estimates in two saved files. The gap between them is more useful than a single average: it shows the flexibility you need before paying.

Privacy and limitations

What is saved, and where?

The formulas run in JavaScript on this page. Autosave uses your browser’s local storage on this device. You do not need a name, phone number or email. CSV files are generated locally; printing uses your browser’s print function. The calculator code does not submit a booking enquiry. Website analytics and other tracking are separate from the locally saved plan.

Anyone using the same browser and device may see saved inputs. Reset the plan or remove site storage through browser settings on a shared device. Do not enter passport numbers, card details or personal information; the calculator does not need them.

Why this tool exists

A planning tool, not a pricing engine

True Travel’s team designed it to help travellers from Saudi Arabia compare trips using consistent assumptions before requesting a quote. Its value is a transparent, editable calculation you can export—not a promise to predict future prices.

Check flight, accommodation, entry and insurance prices for your travel dates. Any commercial quote has its own validity, inclusions and conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Before saving your travel budget

How do I use the travel budget calculator?

Enter your budget limit, number of travellers, nights and rooms, then add the flight, hotel, daily spending, activity and fee estimates you have collected. Results update immediately with the total, contingency and remaining budget or overspend.

Are the calculator figures booking prices from True Travel?

No. The calculator adds the figures you enter. Default values are an illustration, not a sales offer or a guarantee of price or availability. A booking quote needs specified flights, accommodation, validity and inclusions.

Does the calculator save my inputs on the website?

The calculator saves its plan in this browser on this device using local storage. Its calculation code does not submit a booking request to True Travel. Website analytics and other tracking are separate from this local plan. Reset clears the saved plan values; browser settings can remove site storage.

Can I download my travel budget result?

Yes. Download CSV creates a file on your device with the trip assumptions, cost categories and results. You can also print the summary or save it as a PDF using your browser’s print dialog.

What contingency percentage should I use?

The tool uses 10% as an example, not a mandatory rule. Adjust it for price certainty, travel dates, currencies, transport and activities. A fully prepaid trip may need a different allowance from an early-stage plan.

How does the calculator handle children’s costs?

Airline, hotel and activity policies vary by age, so child flight, food and activity costs have separate fields. Accommodation is calculated by rooms and nights, rather than by people, to avoid counting the same room twice.

Are visa and insurance costs calculated per traveller?

Yes. Visa and insurance amounts are multiplied by the total number of adults and children. If a child or resident pays a different fee, use a cautious average or put the difference under other expenses.

What is the difference between the budget limit and trip total?

The budget limit is the maximum you intend to spend. The trip total adds all cost categories and the contingency. The difference is shown as remaining budget when positive, or as overspend when the plan exceeds the limit.
